The following is a list of free community resources and activities, as well as subsidy programs available in Ottawa.

 

Ottawa Addictions Access and Referral Services (OAARS)

Also called Service Access to Recovery, this program provides assistance navigating the health care system to people aged 16 and over who are concerned about their alcohol or drug use and need help. This service is offered in French and English. 

The Walk-In Counselling Clinic

Offers counselling at no charge a first-come, first-serve basis. Services are offered in a variety of languages. Clinics take place at different locations across the city, mainly at family services centres and community health centres, Evening and weekend hours are available. Counselling Connect

Provides quick access to a phone or online counselling session in English or French.

City of Ottawa Recreation and Culture Fee Support

The City of Ottawa Hand in Hand program offers assistance in paying program fees so that all residents can participate in recreation and culture activities. If you are an individual or family with a low-income, you may qualify.
